Colby Kindergartners Learn Traditional Yarn-Making in Classroom Activity

Kindergarten students at Colby Public Schools participated in a hands-on activity this week in which they learned how to spool and make yarn using traditional methods.

Third-grade teacher Mrs. Schielke led the demonstration, bringing in her own materials to show students the process of creating yarn. The activity was designed to teach students about historical textile practices while also developing fine motor skills.

The lesson connected curriculum topics in history and hands-on learning for the district's youngest students.
